How it works
1 / Pre-requisites
-
Any cyclist taking part in the Brevet Hiberniae should be a member of Audax Ireland for the total period of their Brevet tour.
-
It is NOT necessary to be a Cycling Ireland member.
-
It is recommended but NOT necessary to have some form of cycling insurance.
-
A safe and road worthy bicycle is a must. As the tour is unsupported, carrying suitable tools and spares and having the knowledge to use them is good insurance.
-
Wearing and/or carrying clothing suitable for the current and forecasr conditions will ensure a more comfortable experience.
2 / Proof of Passage
-
At each location, take a photograph with your bicycle in front of the location as proof you have cycled to the site on the pictured bicycle.
-
Record the date of the visit
-
Retaining an activity link (Strava, MapMyRide etc) is not mandatory
NOTE: Keeping regular backups of photographs is highly recommended
3 / Tracking Progress
-
The following Google Sheet should be used to record visits: Brevet Hiberniae Template
-
Open the link and click 'Use Template' to make a copy for your own purposes.
-
Further instructions are found on the first page of the sheet.
4 / Brevet Categories
There are three award categories:
-
National Brevet: A visit to one place in all counties.
-
Provincial Brevet: All the places visited in a single province.
-
Brevet Hiberniae: All the places in all counties.

When a category is completed and you are ready to claim a reward, submit the Google sheet with all the necessary proof of passage information to ???@???.com.
